negro slaves, Will and Letty, and the future increase of Letty, and Lucretia’s one ninth interest in the real estate devised by Stephen

O-67-70. Marriage Settlement. May 28, 1842. Contemplating a marriage between Alicia Middleton of Charleston and William Alexander Sparks of Society Hill,
physician, Alicia’s residuary legacy in the negroes of the estate of her late father John Middleton of Charleston as indicated by
hs will is conveyed in trust for her, Sparks and their children, to Gen. James Hamilton and Thomas Middleton. “A more particular

child; Jasper and his wife Harriet; Black Milly and her four children, Julia, Hiram, Dianna and an infant; Tempy and her three children,
Amelia, Lucretia and an infant; Stepney and his wife Judy; Broady; Titus and his wife Becky; Edmund son of Simon; and Isaac Blacksmith. Title to this property remains in Alexander Sparks who may dispose of it by will at his pleasure. If Alexander dies intestate,
